Here is another silver dollar I made, this time using GIMP. I played around trying to get the circle form - first I used an enlarged circular version of the paint tool, then decided to try the professor's suggestion of using the ellipse selection tool and then filling in the background grey. To draw the head I used the pencil tool, and filled it in with the paint bucket tool with the "fill similar colors" option. Finally, I added the word LIBERTY letter by letter and 1965 at once.
